Volodymyr LOGVYNENKO met the leaders of the Donetsk region religion organizations

17The Donetsk RSA chairman Volodymyr LOGVYNENKO met the leaders of the Donetsk region religion organizations. The leader of the region executive power expressed his deep respect and sincere gratitude for actions, directed upon the support of interconfessional peace and harmony in the Donetsk region, for understanding and help concerning the honoring of famishment victims in 1932-1933. He enounced his confidence in that joint efforts will help the power and representatives of religion organizations to maintain high level of cooperation, mutual help and understanding.

Religion leaders and members of Church Council, invited to the meeting, congratulated the RSA representatives and Voldymyr LOGVYNENKO in particular with holidays, and gave memorable presents and holy books.

At the end of the meeting, all present resolved the addressing to Donetsk region citizens, which is presented below:

 

ADRESSING OF RELIGION ORGANIZATION LEADERS TO THE DONETSK REGION CITIZENS

 

Dear compatriots, brothers and sisters!

We, religion organization leaders of the Donetsk region, address to you in order to unite the efforts of all voluntarily people for task determination of the region spiritual development.

Unfortunately, today there achieved great scales and dynamics of such fatal phenomena as HIV/Aids, tuberculosis, drug and psychotropic substances selling, prostitution, criminality, children homelessness, divorces in families, strong drinks and tobacco advertising, etc. The trouble is that in single above-said categories Donetsk region rates the leading position in comparison to other regions of Ukraine.

At the same time, there were displays of national and religion intolerance, blasphemy and vandalism, which are manifested when ruining graves and monuments of the dead. That is an outrage over the people’s feelings and contradicts the main postulates of all world religions.

 We, religion organization leaders of the Donetsk region, realize the responsibility before God and people for our land and Ukraine and believe that the most important task of our society is to solve the problem of spiritually-mental and family education. As far as this state and local authority body are concerned, the priority questions must become social, family and youth policy, problems of ethics and clearness of informational surrounding.

As has been said, we address to the Donetsk region citizens in order to resist negative phenomena, happening in our society.

We appeal to you, dear compatriots, to display toleration, tolerance, wisdom, moral clearness, love to fellow creatures everywhere for the sake of peace and prosperity of our region!
