Ethnonational policy council

 

Today, the meeting of the Ethnonational policy Council took place under direction of the deputy chairman of the regional state administration Oleksander TRETYAK. Members of the Council, representatives of Office of Public Prosecutor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Security service of Ukraine, managements of justice have taken part in the meeting.

Theme for discussion became a question of realization of the problems determined by the Plan of actions on counteraction to displays of xenophobia, racial and ethnic discrimination in Donetsk region for 2008-2009

Nowadays, representatives of 133 nationalities out of 134 registered across Ukraine live in the territory of the region. Earlier no evil deeds connected with racial and ethnic discrimination have been registered and recently such facts are fixed. Especially it concerns young generation when foreign students come to region to get education or to find a job. According to the deputy chief of RSA administrative board of interaction with the public and nationalities and religion Svetlana KUZNETSOVA, it has been made a lot to minimize the bad attitude to foreigners recently. ”So, methodical grants are developed, lectures and role games with pupils of Donechchyna comprehensive schools” are carried out, - Svitlana KUZNETSOVA has noticed.

Having listened and having discussed the majority of problems, which are concerned with realization of tasks determined by the Plan of actions on counteraction to displays of xenophobia, racial and ethnic discrimination, the Council has made a decision to recommend structural divisions of the oblast administration, rayon administrations, executive committees of city councils, Central administrative board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk oblast, Security service of Ukraine in Donetsk oblast and Office of Public Prosecutor of Donetsk oblast, according to the competence to continue work concerning realization of actions. And also to continue carrying out of explanatory conversations and lectures concerning the tolerant treatment with different people and nationalities among all categories and layers of the population.
