Volodymyr Logvynenko and Anatoliy Blyznyuk have congratulated Donetsk citizens - subjugators of the Everest Mountain
As we have already informed, on May 27, 2008 climbers of Donetsk region have conquered the highest point of a planet - the Everest top (8848 m.).
Participants of expedition have carried out the highest rise. Climbers have lifted flags of Ukraine, Donetsk region and miners’ cities to the top. And as a token of respect for hard miners’ work the climbers of Donbass for the first time in history of a planet have brought to the Everest pieces of coal from mines named after Skochynsky, Bazhanov, Hayevy, "Krasnolymanska" and Tkachuk, and also pennants with logotypes of sponsors and a capsule with names of those who has supported the given project.
Climbers have already gone down from top and tomorrow will come back to Donetsk.
The greetings from state regional administration chairman, Volodymyr Logvynenko, and chairman of regional council, Anatoliy Blyznyuk were sent to climbers. Here is the text:
"DEAR FRIENDS!
Accept words of sincere gratitude for an outstanding achievement in sport - ascension on May 27, 2008 on the highest point of a planet the Everest (8848м).
For the first time in history of a planet, as a token of respect for hard miners work and with a great honour there was raised up the capsule with the coal extracted from Donbass mines to the top of the Everest. Realization of the project has added world glory to Donbass not only as industrial, but also as the sport center of Ukraine.
We sincerely thank you for an active civic position and patriotism: rising of coal to mount Everest - a symbol of Donbass, flags of Ukraine, Donetsk region, Minvuhleprom, miners’ cities and miners’ trade unions, you have raised up heroism of miners’ work to unbelievable height.
We hope that your achievements will rank in the Book of records of Ukraine and become an original beacon on a way to new heights and professional achievements.
We wish all climbers of Donechchyna a strong health, well-being in each family and new achievements for the prosperity of Ukraine".
