«The main treasure of Donbass is its people»

The Head of the Donetsk regional state administration Anatoliy Blyznyuk: «Undoubtedly, the main feature and the main treasure of Donbass is its people. The concept «Donbass character» is widely used in the most different contexts and interpretation, but at all integrity of this definition it’s extremely many-sided and immensely wide concept. Taking into concern the terminology of our industrial land, this "conglomerate" includes the best people characteristics of 130 nationalities living here. It embodies the brightest characters of such outstanding persons as the  composer of genius Sergey Prokofiev, the artist of unique talent Arkhip Kuindgy, «Golden Voice» of Ukraine Anatoly Solovjanenko, Dancer of the World Vadym Pisarev, the world record-holder on high jumps Sergey Bubka, the polar researcher George Sedov, cosmonauts George Beregovoy, Leonid Kizim and Alexander Volkov whose  the call letter in space was the word "Donbass". Besides Nikita Izotov, Alexey Stakhanov, Pasha Angelina, Makar Mazaj were the champions of labour achievements. All of them are our countrymen.

 

They say, one might not be born in Donbass but might become the part of it. Our earth gives energy to all who binds with Donbass their hopes and fortune».
