Visit of the Minister Mykhajlo BOLOTS”KYKH to the Donetsk region

Today, the Minister assistant of emergency situations and social protection from the Chernobyl catastrophe Mykhajlo BOLOTS’KYKH is in the Donetsk region.

At the meeting also were present the head of the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine in the Donetsk region Andrij BONDARENKO, the head of emergency situations and social protection from the Chernobyl catastrophe Serhij GLUSHKO, mayors’ and district state administrations heads’ assistants – committee chiefs of technological-ecological safety and emergency situations.

During working meeting, Minister assistant got acquainted with the work of the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine in the Donetsk region and examined technology. During inspection, there took place the handover of emergency-rescuing automobile “Gas” to the Makijivka Ministry of Emergency Situations department, and the Donetsk emergency-rescuing detachment – autobus “Bogdan”. After that, the Minister assistant of emergency situations and social protection from the Chernobyl catastrophe Mykhajlo BOLOTS’KYKH took part in educational-methodical meeting with the leading staff of the Donetsk region social protection that was led by the RSA chairman assistant Oleksandr TRETYAK. At the meeting also were present the head of the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine in the Donetsk region Andrij BONDARENKO, mayors’ and district state administrations heads’ assistants – committee chiefs of technological-ecological safety and emergency situations.

Educational-methodical meeting concluded the year of 2007 and there were made plans for 2008.

Andrij BONDARENKO reported about the work of the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. As he said, “2007 for the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine in the Donetsk region was more complicated and intensive than the previous years”. In order to adequately estimate the emergency situations in the Donetsk region, there should be taken into account the fact that the Donetsk region takes the first place for its population number and density and is a leader, at the same time, for its level of amount of technological work to be done. There are more than 2000 potentially dangerous objects in the region.

In 2007 there occurred 47 emergency situations that are 18% more than in previous year. 185 people died, including 14 children. 205 people suffered.

The Main Governance subdivisions came across such variety and number of emergency situations for the first time. In April, there happened a radiation wreck on the industrial polygon in Konstantynivsk district, in May-June – mass forest fires in several districts of the region, in November-December – explosions on Zasjad’ko mine. Besides, the region subdivisions were attracted to fire liquidation works in the Kherson region and Crimea, to explosion liquidation works in a dwelling house in Dnipropetrovs’k city, to mine clearing of ammunition in Novobogdanivka village, and inundation results in Berdyansk town.

 

Andrij BONDARENKO also named the main questions for the following year. They are “further creation of a professional team, increase of the psychological comfort in a collective, and also re-equipping of a rescue service, its updating, keeping subdivision apartments and buildings in a proper function condition, cooperation with local self-government as for the financial help to the region subdivisions Minister of Emergency Situations. Separate and very important task, according to Andrij BONDARENKO, is “providing with fire and technological safety the Football Championship “Euro-2012””. In the Donetsk region, purposeful work on this occasion had began in July already.
 

In conclusion, the head of the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine in the Donetsk region addressed to Mykhajlo BOLOTS’KYKH with request to solve some problems such as providing with dwellings the workers of the Minister of Emergency Situations and giving the 5-floor hostel in Avdijivka town to the Main governance for its further reconstruction into dwellings by their own forces.

Mykhajlo BOLOTS’KYKH assured the present that “only all together we can achieve results in solving complicated situations”. Besides, the Minister assistant of emergency situations and social protection from the Chernobyl catastrophe thanked for “mutual understanding and those relations that are among the workers of the Main Minister of Emergency Situations Governance of Ukraine and the region leadership”.
